Psalms 96

A Call to Worship the Lord the Righteous Judge.

1 ^aSing to the Lord a ^bnew song;
Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Sing to the Lord, bless His name;
^cProclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
3 Tell of ^dHis glory among the nations,
His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.
4 For ^egreat is the Lord, and ^fgreatly to be praised;
He is to be ^gfeared ^habove all gods.
5 For ⁱall the gods of the peoples are ^{▼▼Or non-existent things}idols,
But ^kthe Lord made the heavens.
6 ^lSplendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.

7 ^{▼▼Lit Give}Ascribe to the Lord, you ⁿfamilies of the peoples,
^{▼▼Lit Give
,} ^pAscribe to the Lord glory and strength.
8 ^{▼▼Lit Give}Ascribe to the Lord the ^rglory of His name;
Bring an ^{▼▼Or meal offering
,} ^toffering and come into His courtyards.
9 ^uWorship the Lord in ^{▼▼Or the splendor of holiness}holy attire;
^wTremble before Him, all the earth.
10 Say among the nations, “ ^xThe Lord reigns;
Indeed, the ^yworld is firmly established, it will not be moved;
He will ^zjudge the peoples fairly.”

11 May the ^aaheavens be joyful, and may the ^abearth rejoice;
May ^acthe sea ^{▼▼Or thunder}roar, and ^{▼▼Lit its fullness}all it contains;
12 May the ^affield be jubilant, and all that is in it.
Then all the ^agtrees of the forest will sing for joy
13 Before the Lord, ^ahfor He is coming,
For He is coming to judge the earth.
^aiHe will judge the world in righteousness,
And the peoples in His faithfulness.
